FORMER United star David Beckham will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season and join MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy on a é128million (250 million US dollars) five-year deal.
The former England captain will leave Real in June and begin his new career in Major League Soccer in August.
Beckham said in a statement: éThis week,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Real Madrid asked me to make a decision regarding my future and the offer to extend my contract by a further two seasons.

Excellent point from "Tosh"! As a red I was a Beckham fan and still am as he has not dirtied Uniteds name and always spoke of them with fondness. Can you imagine Fergie asking for a bit of extra training for a big game. He say that he has a meeting in London with the Armani marketing director, and Posh has another record deal to sign in L A so he having the kids. If he had any fire in his belly he go to a proper football country and play in a proper league for a proper team. . maybe he just wants to be seen at a lakers game . is now at a very high standard - the best American teams are easily on a par with those at the top of the League Championship,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and teams like DC United and Houston could feasibly survive in the Premier League.
Those not willing to look outside of the rose tinted EPL will dismiss this move as a marketing ploy,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but the fitness level here is very high and a number of quality players play in the league.
Beckham has been unfairly vilified as a has-been but he is still a talented player who many appear to have forgotten just how much he benefitted every team he played for.

My only regret is that he did not move to my local team the New York Red Bulls.
This could be the start of a new era in USA! The likes of Ronaldinho, Ronaldo,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Ballack,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Van Nistelrooy and every big name player could now decide to run down their contract and move to USA! Because as we know Footballers are greedy enough and as their all on 100k per week they will think too themselves lets run out my contract and go USA and get paid 400k per week ! It could happen! America is the biggest country and most powerful in the world and this could mean disaster for european football!
Just a word about the cash though - this move is not about that.
Anyone with 170 million in the bank does not make choices solely on money.
Beckham is doing something no other footballer would dream of,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or could do right now - he is doing this for the game itself. He is giving the casual American a real chance to follow and realise what they have been missing.
He played for arguably - Barcelona aside - the two biggest club teams in the world, and played in 3 World Cups and 2 European Championships.
