bigfoot killer wifi card
I use connectify to set a hotspot to connect my ipad.
everything worked perfectly with my previous computer but since I switched to an alienware m11X I have network problems.
I have lost and delayed data (OSC messages). I monitor them with puredata so I'm 100% sure the delay comes from the network and not the soft I use for performance.
so here is my question : how should I configure my network so it's optimized for such use (no data loss or abnormal delay) ,ルイヴィトンiPhone5ケース?
btw changing the wifi channel would maybe fix the problem, but it seems impossible with the bigfoot killer network card.
I am also having an issue with my Alienware laptop with a Killer network card,アイフォン5ケース.
When I am connected to the LAN, I can connect to any website/game with no problem whatsoever.
When I am connected via wireless connection, I can still connect to the internet but cannot connect to any game, regardless who manufactures it.
I tried removing and readding the games to my firewall exception list, and even tried disabling my firewall all together. tired calling alienware, but they basically said its user error, yet this is a brand new laptop and had no issue with any other computer until now.
If you resolve your issue, please let me know how you fixed it so I can try the same.
our respective problems are probably totally unrelated. I don't even play online games or use internet. yours looks more like there is something that forbids connection. mine looks more hardware or system related. I have connection, but the quality sucks.
I did a gig yesterday, same data losses or delays. about half the time not working correctly. sometimes it just works fine, sometimes it doesn't respond or the signal is totally delayed.
what could cause the network card to sudenly become unable to receive any data correctly ? (apart from wifi network congestion, which is not the case since the gigs I did were in places without wifi smog).
can heat and vibrations cause such bug ? (note that my computer doesn't overheat when I do performances, I have optimized my configuration so that it is very light CPU speaking)
can sound system equipement interfere ? (loudspeakers, amplificators, dj equipment, power plugs everywhere ?) note that I never had any significant problem with my previous computer and same config, except once, which was probably caused by a wifi channel congestion : it didn't work on 1 stage, and worked fine on the main stage and backroom, hopefully. strangely the behaviour was very similar than with my computer.
btw can it come from the new version of connectify (I used 2,iPhoneケース店舗.2 on my previous computer) ? or commodo firewall (though I turn it off during gigs) ? or a bigfootrelated task ?
for some reasons it works like a charm when I test it at home and works like sht when I do gigs. I have another one tomorrow, if I still have the same problem I'll be sure that it comes from the locations.
some precisions : I only send and receive OSC data which are probably the lightest type of data ever (a whole OSC log for a 1h30 gig weighs a few megas, and there is no heavy peak, if I monitor network traffic while doing heavy parameter articulations, it is still so light that it doesn't even appear on the graph).
we use the same network card but our problems are totally not similar.
he has software not working at all with his configuration.
I have everything working but have temporary signal losses or delays. probably drivers stability issues.
I got a mail from bigfoot network tech support. apparently they just released new drivers. I'm going to try them.
btw, I'll make sure I'll try everything before sending the computer back to dell. it's probably quite long to have them replacing a component.
the problem is that in any other situtation it works totally perfectly.
I also had some minor stability issues before, some BSODs, and "whocrashed" pointed towards the network card drivers. I thought I got the culprit. but since I installed the last drivers, everything is perfectly stable. except the OSC messages via hotspot.
i even fixed several other problems while trying to deal with this (i used some driver monitors, latency checkers, found several issues I could fix by updating some particular drivers that aren't managed by windows or dell updates.)
if they run some tests they'll probably conclude everything is ok. and i'm not sure the warranty will cover this.
i'm gonna try the ipad JB + wifi network USB emulation first (to be absolutely 100% sure it comes from the network card) then check if the warranty can cover this, and if it doesn't I'll sell the laptop. (just have to find a good JB tuto)
btw is there a soft able to monitor the wifi network in details ? (lost or delayed data, drop outs, . ?).
